DATAIX-SG network has shown a peak load of 75G within a few months of operations

Share

Within a few months, DATAIX-SG reached a peak load of 75G, which is 3-4 times higher than similar IXs on the island in terms of member count.

DATAIX-SG, a Singapore segment of the DATAIX Internet Exchange Network consists of 7 peers — large hosting and content providers. The current IP-prefix statistics are 102161 for IPv4 and 50041 for IPv6.

GlobalNet has developed network infrastructure in Singapore using advanced switches and their own DWDM system running on Ciena 6500 and Waveserver 5. The connection points are located in 5 major city internet hubs:

  • 20 Ayer Rajah Crescent (Equinix SG1)
  • 151 Lorong Chuan, #06-02 New Tech Park (Epsilon Lobby A)
  • 151 Lorong Chuan, #02-05 New Tech Park (Epsilon Lobby E)
  • 31 Kaki Bukit Rd 3, Techlink, #03-02 (LWS Sin-9)
  • 2 Tai Seng Avenue (GlobalSwitch)

Maxim Pozdnyakov, CSO of GlobalNet, calls the launch of the new DATAIX segment in Singapore an important milestone in the continued growth of GlobalNet: “Our company's global reach, connectivity, and service availability have expanded significantly. With the introduction of our Singapore segment, we've tapped into the fast-growing telecommunications market in Southeast Asia. GlobalNet is excited to extend its coverage to this dynamic region, and we're committed to further enhancing our capabilities here”.

In its new Singapore segment, GlobalNet is offering the following services:

1. Capacity (DWDM, L2VPN, VLAN). Connection within the city network with a maximum bandwidth of 800G per wavelength.

2. DATAIX. Access to a geographically distributed peering network with a free DDoS protection option for all participants.

"In a short span, we've already established crucial partnerships, including one with a leading international hosting provider. Presently, we're witnessing substantial demand for network deployment on the island from our existing clients. These two developments have swiftly boosted the network load in the Singapore segment to approximately 75 Gbps. I believe this underscores the substantial demand for our dependable services in Singapore." — added Pozdnyakov.

Sincerely, the GlobalNet team.
